PORTSMOUTH Police continue to investigate a home invasion and triple shooting in which one man died and two others were injured early this morning on Holly Hill Crescent.

Portsmouth police car collides with medic unit; one officer injured

PORTSMOUTH A police cruiser collided with a Chesapeake Medical Transport vehicle Wednesday morning, and a police officer sustained minor injuries. Police from both cities are investigating.

Portsmouth sheriff's unit gets financing

PORTSMOUTH After operating a few short months, the she riff's new community enforcement unit has netted financial resources from the City Council. The council agreed Tuesday night to front $347,885 to finance the sheriff's unit. "What we have here is a new and creative way of meeting a mission," Councilman Steve Heretick said of the one-year pilot program.

Fire fails to damage the spirit at Zion Baptist

Elizabeth River Project to receive more than $1 million from EPA

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will award grants of more than $1 million to The Elizabeth River Project Thursday.

The grants, including a Targeted Watershed Grant, will be given to the group during a luncheon, according to a news release from The Elizabeth River Project.
