YORK COUNTY
State police and the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office teamed up on March 17 for a sobriety checkpoint and patrols designed to keep drunk drivers off the road.
The checkpoint, held on George Washington Memorial Highway and Alexander Hamilton Parkway, screened 740 vehicles and resulted in 31 summonses and arrests. That included three DUIs, a felony drug arrest, two cases of improper child restraint, 10 suspended or invalid licenses and 10 inspection violations.
