Report says attendence grew last year at Busch Gardens

Posted to: News Virginia

WILLIAMSBURG

A theme park industry report says Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg had the largest percentage increase in theme park attendance in the nation in 2007.

The report by Themed Entertainment Association and Economic Research Associates says attendance rose 12.5 percent and the park had about 3.12 million visitors last year.

Those numbers place the park in the top 15, ahead of rivals such as Hershey Park, the Six Flags properties and Cedar Point.

The report cited the launch of the Griffon roller coaster, an oldies concert series, good weather and the growth of Howl-O-Scream for the success.

Park is okay

Busch Gardens is nice, but food price/food and the employees are not the best. Disney World is more organized the prices are better. Howlo-Scream is terrible!!! Just long lines and it doesnt really scare you. Now they make you buy a locker, before going on any roller coaster-and you have to do this at each coaster ride. They should use fast past (not pay more money and cut the line) plus let parents with small children switch off and not wait?!!?! They need to learn from Disney-Busch Gardens got greedy! Coasters are great but park needs work-
