Records in former principal's assault case will be expunged

CHESAPEAKE

A judge has granted former Great Bridge High School Principal Clifton Randolph’s petition to have police and court records in his assault case expunged.

Randolph was accused of forcing himself sexually on a parent who was visiting the school Feb. 14, 2007. After a trial in Chesapeake General District Court, Randolph was cleared of two misdemeanor counts of assault and battery against a 34-year-old woman in the principal’s office.

The 63-year-old asked this week to have the records sealed. He retired last year after more than 30 years with the school system.

He had been on leave from early March 2007 until late May after being charged with the crime.
