PORTSMOUTH

Police are looking for a man they said abducted his 4-year-old twins on Sunday.

The children’s grandmother told Portsmouth police Michael Wayne Williams took his son and daughter for a walk around the block on Summers Place and didn’t return, police said today.

The children were identified as Michael Wayne Williams Jr. and Hamonii L. Williams.

Police have secured warrants for Williams, 29, on two counts of abduction. They are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

Police are also looking for the children’s mother, Anna Lashane Clair Applewhite-Poe, 30, on charges including failing to appear in court.

Police did not say who has custody of the children, and they did not say if they believe the mother may be with Williams.

Police asked that anyone with information call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
