RICHMOND
Several Virginia cities and counties, including some in Hampton Roads, will receive government grants to prevent terrorism in Virginia, Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced Thursday.
The grants, which are drawn from federal funds allocated to Virginia from the Department of Homeland Security, have been awarded to certain localities that applied. They are capped at $5,000 per locality.
About $260,000 in grants were awarded to 53 localities, including: Hampton, $4,800; Isle of Wight County, $4,400; James City County, $2,750; and Norfolk, $3,314.
