Car shot with BB gun on Interstate 264 in Virginia Beach

Two people were driving on Interstate 264 Thursday night when someone shot out the rear window of the car they were in, state police said.

An investigation revealed the weapon was a BB gun. No one was injured. 

According to state police, the victims were driving a 1986 Toyota Corolla near Rosemont Road just before 10 p.m. when they saw a silver car with five people inside driving erratically. The victims watched a man in the silver car pull out a weapon and fire at their car.

After the shooting, police said, the victims followed the silver car to Birdneck Road, where they saw someone discard a weapon.

The victims stopped and picked up the weapon, which they turned over to police.
