Police have charged two men with the robbery last week of a discount store on Laskin Road.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on Friday, a man went into the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in the 1900 block of Laskin and approached a cashier with merchandise, according to a police news release. He handed money to the cashier then pulled out a gun and demanded money when the cash register was opened.

The man fled the store after the clerk handed him some money, police wrote in the release.

Police were called to the store where they were given a description of the robber and a man who had gone into the store before the robbery, but had not bought anything, the release says.

Police put out a broadcast with the descriptions of the men on their radio system, the release says. Less than 30 minutes later, an officer spotted a man who matched one of the descriptions.

The man was taken into custody and questioned by detectives, the release says. Later, police charged Adam Ryan Commander, 25, of the 2000 block of Westminster Lane, with conspiracy to commit a felony.

Some time later, police obtained warrants charging David Anthony Blasioli, 26, of the 2000 block of Westminster Lane, with robbery, using a gun during a felony and conspiracy to commit a felony, the release says. He was arrested, but police did not say when the arrest was made.

Both men are being held in jail without bond.

The case is under investigation.
